The Glass Bangle

Being a Woman

Your Words

Words. They can take you up to the moon and also cut you to pieces. In any relationship be it with a parent, spouse, friend or sibling, words are the weapons which do the most damage.

Your words,

Thrown like confetti

In the wind.

The razor sharp edges

Leave deep furrows

In the heart.

Your words

So soulless

Your smile

So false

Mauls and savages

My poor heart.

I try to mirror

Your shallow smile

I try to hurt

With my words

But my fickle heart

Stays them on my lips.

    “Mum’s the word,” err…. “Dumb’s the word.”
