The Glass Bangle

Being a Woman

She Walks Away….

She walks away from the closed door

With a handful of battered memories

She walks away from the cloudy night

With a fistful of shattered dreams.

Each golden memory

Came with a thousand others

that tore her heart to shreds.

Each dream

Had been assiduously woven

over countless hours of pain.

She takes the first step

towards the life

She’d kept hidden

in her dreams,

She looks to the dawn

and feels a sense of peace.

She tremulously,

Steps over the  threshold

Of the house

Which had taught her to dream.

All that holds her together

Is the thought of her mother’s arms.

Nothing else matters

Nothing else matters.

“She” reminds me of Sita the epitome of struggling woman hood, who vanished into the stretched arms of her Mother

If she has walked away, i applaud her… there are many who are still there.. inside thinking it is because of them that things are so bad..

Pallavi, Thnx for stopping by! Unfortunately, the women who walk away are outnumbered by those who stay in such relationships for various reasons.
