Being a Woman

Haphazard. Arbitrary. Thoughts

There’re times when thoughts flirt with me. They don’t linger for me to ponder over them. Just a glimpse of what they could evolve into and then off they go leaving me feeling slightly incomplete. Here are some of those flighty groups of words which have been playing hide and seek with me. They cannot be grouped under any single heading; they cannot be called a single name; but they’ve all been visitors to my soul at one time or another.

  • When I see the steam rising from a hot cup of coffee, black as sin and with the fragrance of passion, I wonder if they are wisps of regrets being banished by the drinker.
  • There’re are few things as poignant as a dying relationship. Some immolate themselves on fiery pyres while others quietly fade away taking with them the debris of broken hearts, shattered dreams and unfulfilled promises.
  • No matter how connected you are, how loved you are or how reviled you may be, at the end of the day we are all like tiny islands – alone , with only our hopes, dreams and sorrows for company.
  • Each dawn brings with it a swoosh of freshness and anticipation. Dusk is the old and trusted friend who waits patiently with open arms, to soothe those aches and rub salve on our trampled desires.
